Uniting a war-torn nation behind an improbable victory on the world stage. Inspiring thousands with each prosthetic-enabled step of a double-amputee sprinter. Bringing a much-needed smile to the face of a child that has battled cancer each day of their all-too-short ten years of life. Motivating a person to continually honor their life-long commitment to their health by staying active every day.
In all these cases, from our own homes to the international arena, sports knows no boundaries. It can help us overcome obstacles, teach us critical life lessons, connect us with the people we love, give us an outlet during tough times, or even provide us The Drive to make a positive impact in our lives and the lives of others. This is the focus of our site: harnessing the power of sports in everyday life.
Each of our articles will attempt to capture different elements and different perspectives of sports that showcase how sports have not only affected our lives, but also how it has influenced countless lives of many others across the globe. Please note that this is not meant to be a “self-help” website. We will never tell the readers what they should be doing with their lives nor will we expect you to agree with all of our statements. Instead, our goal is to write articles involving sports, their effect on our society and how they can connect your life. From there, it is up to you as the reader to decide how you choose to read, understand and use it in your lives.
Maybe it motivates or inspires you, maybe it opens your mind to new perspectives, or maybe it just captures your attention on a lazy Saturday morning. However it engages you, we’re happy you’re reading and encourage you to post or share comments so we can hear your voice too!
